Sherri Lyn Higgins, also known as S. L. Higgins, is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist working in visual art, performance, and sound. Higgins grew up in the Atlantic provinces and attended the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Her art is informed by Feminism and witchcraft and she considers her work equal parts art and magickal practice. Much of Higgins' work has been in collaboration with her partner W.A.Davison, under the banner of Recordism, in connection with post-punk, contemporary surrealism, and various underground networks. She has published, performed, and exhibited internationally, notably at the 2008 Whitney Biennial and at Surrealist exhibitions in Montreal, Costa Rica, USA, UK and France. Davison and Higgins have made collaborative performances with Nurse With Wound and many others. She has also been awarded grants from the Canada Council For The Arts and has been written about in A Companion to Dada and Surrealism (Wiley-Blackwell, UK, 2016) and The International Encyclopedia Of Surrealism (Bloomsbury, UK, 2018).
